The calendar committee met and developed a make-up
day schedule for next year that we will be presenting to our
Board of Education. The schedule is listed below and we ask
that as you make your plans to please keep these make-up days
in mind. The committee had some in-depth discussions about issues
such as the Friday before Spring Break, Memorial Day, MLK day,
etc. As it turned out, none of these three days are listed as
make-up days. The general consensus was that we should not use
these days, and in the case of MLK day, it would be a violation
of Kentucky law to open schools on that day, so that one was
a moot point anyway. The feedback we received about using the
Feb. 16 date was that our folks wanted us to use this day if
needed. The committee added some statements in the plan that
makes this schedule flexible, based upon when the missed days
occur. Please study this and feel free to contact me or Chuck
Green if you have any questions. Thanks to the teachers, staff,
and parents who served on this committee this year. Again, please
plan your vacations, college visits, etc. keeping these dates
in mind.
