
The
Apollo AFJROTC program was established in 1972, when
Apollo became a high school. The past instructors of
the AFJROTC program are Colonel Hobson, CMSgt. Holderby,
Colonel Nichols, Sergeant Taylor, Colonel Paul, and
Sergeant Parker. The programs first classroom was the
auditorium; ROTC was later moved to a doublewide trailer
in early 1980's. In 1987 the mobile home was moved to
the parking lot when Apollo underwent an 8 million-dollar
renovation process. In 1988 the AFJROTC program was
relocated to the classroom which Colonel Nichols designed.
Sergeant Parker arrived March 4, 1986, as the Aerospace
Science Instructor, Sarge started the Drill Team, Color
Guard, and the Uniform Day. Colonel Paul arrived December
1, 1992, as the Senior Aerospace Instructor. Colonel
started the Kitty Hawk Air Society, Orienteering, Eagle
Flight, and Rocketry Club.
