MEETINGS, PRACTICES, & TRAINING
Orienteering Training,
3:20-4:15 each session. Wednesday,Nov 13, 20, Dec 4,
11, 18 This is classroom training in preparation for
the KY/IN Orienteering Championship Competition on 16
November and The National Championship in January. The
KY/IN Championship is Nov 16. This competition will
be open to all cadets who have been trained in Orienteering.
Orienteering Conditioning:
There will be Orienteering conditioning sessions each
Monday, Thursday & Friday at 7:00 a.m. Meet in the
ROTC room.
I have tentatively
planned an Orienteering practice session at Hoosier
National Forest for Monday, December 30th for the cadets
selected to go to the national championship. More information
will be provided at a later date.
For your information.
Eleven cadets who are trained in orienteering attended
a meeting to discuss attendance at the National Interscholastic
(High School)Orienteering Championship meet to be held
in January 2003 near Atlanta, GA. Col Paul explained
the requirements to attend this competition. At the
end of the meeting, 11 cadets expressed an interest
in competing at this event. All 11 cadets were selected
by Col Paul for the trip.
Drill Team/Color Guard
Our unit will host
a Drill Competition on Saturday April 12, 2003. This
will be the first time we will host the competition
at Apollo High School.
FIELD TRIPS
Orienteering Competition
Saturday, Nov 16 to Otter Creek Park near Ft Knox.
