We will tackle the difficult task of trying to explain
how students earn credits. Freshmen do not understand
the importance of each 6 weeks and how they build toward
the final semester grade.
I
will include 4 handouts for you to use:
1.
How to figure the semester average (If you would rather
explain this with out the handout, feel free.)
2.What a Zero does to your 6 weeks average
3. A transcript of a student who did not graduate
4. A transcript of a honors student
What
we need to do is …… explain how O’s
kill the average. How important it is to maintain 6 weeks
grades. How summer school may be necessary. And what a
transcript is and what it will look like. The transcript
is permanent.

Remember
that 2nd chance may help these students stay out of summer
school. If they don’t average a 50 for the semester
they take the class again in their schedule next year.

folders.
