Dear Parents,
The semester is all most over. When students
return, we will have 3 short weeks before Christmas vacation.
Ask you student to share with you the pro’s and
con’s of being a high school student. I’d
be interested in hearing what they have to say.
As we near the end of first semester, let
me remind you and your student of the importance of semester
finals. First, all students can exempt from, up to four,
of their finals. With an “A” average for the
semester, at the end of the third six weeks, averaging
all three six weeks together. This means they will be
required to attend on review day (usually for a grade)
but not for the final! If there were a question about
attendance, I would refer you to Ms. Anderson in the attendance
office. Second, if your son/or daughter is absent, they
must provide a doctor’s excuse and plan on coming
in to make up finals on Dec. 22 and 23, 8:00-12:00 and
1:00-3:00. This will finish the first half of the year
with second semester beginning Jan. 5, 2004.
Some dates to remember are:
At the end of January we will begin the
scheduling process for next school year. Each school year
finds a different and intriguing scenario to pursue in
academics. I am looking forward in helping you and your
student head in that direction.
