Junior CAP GROUP
JANUARY 27, 2004

This CAP group time is extremely important that you review with the students the importance of earning credits. Please review the different diplomas.

I am including transcripts and please point out to them that the first semester grades are listed on there.

Here is what I would like you to review:

  1. Hand out transcripts
  2. Review the different diplomas (briefly).
  3. Review the required courses in order to graduate. Have them circle or underline the required courses they failed.
    Honors/IB 28 credits
    Accelerated 28 credits
    Comprehensive 26 credits
  4. If they are credit deficient, they need to attend summer school. Announce the dates of summer school- June 7 - July 12 and the time will be from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Apollo High School. Due to the complexity of the master schedule and staffing concerns, students will not be allowed to make up credits in their schedule next year.
  5. Also remind students that they cannot participate in the graduation ceremony or activities surrounding graduation if they have not passed all of their required classes and accumulated an adequate number of credits.
  6. Any student that is not in CAP, please send their transcript to Keith Johnson.

FEBRUARY 3 -1 st PERIOD -AUDITORIUM -juniors will be called to report to the auditorium to review curriculum guide. Tim Taylor is in charge of this presentation.

FEBRUARY 2 - MARCH 14 - Scheduling process open for upper classmen. This is to be completed on-line, but if a junior wants to meet with me to discuss courses, please encourage them to make an appointment.

When they are scheduling courses-ask them to see if it has a prerequisite/application requirement listed.
