Class
of 2004…shines as never B4!!! During Spirit Week
(9/22-9/26), “great job” to the seniors for
the class competition results:
- Best Banner for AHS vs. DCHS football game
- Class color winner
- Best decorated hall at AHS (tied with juniors)
- Class yell
- 1st Place, Spirit of giving= $954.

Senior
Hoodies/t-shirts (short-sleeved): If you are
interested in buying one, please bring your $ to the CAP
meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 15 (11:05-11:35). Cost: Hoodies-$17.00
& T-shirts-$8.00. Orders with money will be
taken 10/15 (during CAP), 10/16, & 10/17 (during lunch)
ONLY. All senior
hoodies/shirts will be ordered on Friday afternoon at
distributor (place making them). Goal: To have them to
you before Halloween OR at NOV CAP.

COLLEGE VISITS—log onto the college/university/tech
college website & schedule one through their campus

Western
KY University will be having an informational session
on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the RiverPark Center.
Please make plans to attend if this is a college you are
interested in attending Fall 2004.
Scholarship
Opportunities:
• Scholarship books in the guidance library to view
& get some opportunities for free money!—
• National Society Daughters of the American
Revolution (NSDAR)- awards the following scholarships:
- American History Scholarship- a scholarship in the amount
of $2,000 each year for up to four years to a graduating
high school senior who will be majoring in American History.
- Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship- a one-time
$1,000 scholarship awarded to deserving students accepted
or enrolled in an accredited college or university and
majoring in Political Science, History, Government or
Economics.
- Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship- a one-time $500
scholarship for students who are in financial need and
desire to attend an accredited school of nursing.
- Occupational Therapy Scholarship- a one-time $400 scholarship
for students who are in financial need and have been accepted
and attending an accredited school of Occu-pational Therapy.
- Lillian and Arthur Dunn Scholarship- a $2,000 scholarship
awarded for up to four years to well qualified, deserving
sons & daughters of members of the NSDAR for four
years of college. DAR member number of mother must be
on the application.
- Madeline Picket Halbert Cogswell Nursing Scholarship-
a one-time $500 scholarship for students who desire to
attend an accredited school of nursing, who are members
of the NSDAR, descendants of members of the NSDAR, or
are eligible to be members of NSDAR, DAR member number
must be on the application.
Deadline for completed applications to Ms.
Kreke is Friday, December 12.

Miss Heartland/Miss Heartland Teen Scholarship Pageant-
NEW- Miss Heartland contestants must be at least 17 years
of age and a high school senior on the day of the pageant.
Contestants will be competing for scholarships, cash awards,
and the opportunity to compete for titles of Miss KY 2004
OR Miss KY Teen 2004. For more information OR to request
