given to a general survey of psychology, which includes
principles of learning, personality development, patterns
of behavior, and mental health.

the concepts of his/her society as well as other societies.

social interaction, culture and social change, minorities

WORLD CIVILIZATION Comp Semesters 2

This course follows a chronological survey of World
Civilization from 1500-present using a variety of
tools including primary and secondary sources, data,
and artifacts. This chronological perspective helps
the students develop an understanding of the importance
of eras in World Civilization and recognizes cause-and-effect
relationships, multiple causation, and the role of
individuals and groups, social, political, economic,
and geographic characteristics of each era. World
Civilization is a graduation requirement for all students.
CRIMINOLOGY Accel. Semesters 2
Social Studies Credits 1
This course attempts to present to the student a wide
range of crime in our society, the causes of these
crimes and the effects of these crimes upon his/her
life and upon the nation. Study will be made of national,
state, and local rehabilitation programs, crime prevention,
probation and parole, criminal justice programs, the
Kentucky court system, and area law enforcement agencies.
