INTEGRATED SCIENCE
Accel. Semesters 2
Science Credits 1
This course is a survey course covering the fundamentals
of metric measurement, the processes of science, matter,
atomic structure, the periodic table, bonding and reactions,
motion, force and work, heat, electricity, waves and
sound, light, systems of our world (climate, weather,
and geology), and energy resources. The use of basic
scientific knowledge and the skills (acquired through
lab practices) needed to understand problem solving
techniques on all topics. Another goal of this class
is protection of our environment
INTEGRATED SCIENCE
Honors Semesters 2
Science Credits 1
Prerequisite: Algebra I An accelerated introductory
course to physics and chemistry designed for freshmen.
The course work strongly emphasizes calculation, measurement
and graphing as applied to the principles of physical
science. The fundamentals of chemistry and physics are
reinforced through laboratory procedures and use of
equipment, as well as the quantitative and qualitative
evaluation of data. This course is designed to prepare
students for future studies in biology, chemistry and
physics.
