ENGLISH 12 AP/IB

English Credits 1
This class, the second year of IB Language A1, is the
final step to completing the IB diploma. This class
is open through teacher recommendation. Class work will
cover eight (8) novels requiring an in-depth analysis
of each work emphasizing an international perspective.
Assessments will be both written and orally presented
meeting the IB requirements with a culminating exam
in May. Students wishing to take the AP exam may do
so. The state required writing portfolio will be completed
in this course.

This class will continue to emphasize the foundational
skills of English. The course of study will include
vocabulary development, grammar and usage, oral communications,
composition, and literature, those skills necessary
to enter the world of work
ENGLISH 11 Accel.
Semesters 2
English Credits 1
This class will continue the foundation of English for
Juniors. The course of study will include vocabulary
development, grammar and usage, preparation for ACT
and SAT tests, oral communications, and composition
skills. Each student will learn the skills of research
and will prepare a research paper. The research paper
must be completed for this course. The literature phase
of the class will center around the survey of American
Literature.
