This course covers the national, state and local levels
of government with the U.S. It covers rights of individuals
within a free society and the role of individuals in
American government. It covers the Constitution and
the legislative, executive and judicial branches of
government. The focus of the class is to encourage responsible
student participation in a democracy. Government is
a required course for graduation for all students.

This course covers the American economic system. It
attempts to aid students in understanding how this economic
system works and how individuals operate within this
system. The focus of the class is to encourage students
to make informed personal finance decisions. Economics
is a required course for graduation for all students.
WORLD GEOGRAPHY

The goals of the course are to develop solid geography
habits of mind, to foster good citizenship, and promote
critical thinking. The course will be organized around
ten world regions and will be presented with an inquiry
approach. Physical and human systems will be studied,
the environment and society created by these systems
will be developed, and the uses of geography in society
will be explored.
