Cats Testing begins for all Apollo students!

by: Kimberly Gregory
Exchange & Distribution Manager

During the week of April 19th - April 30th, all Apollo High School students will be taking various peices of the CATS Testing. Throughout the week, students will have certain "testing teachers" assigned and the teachers will determine by your work ethic, whether you have deserved a "good faith effort" award. With the good faith effort you are able to excempt from 1-3 final exams during spring finals. Free breakfast, pizza parties, and hat days will also be given as incentives to keep students trying their best.

The schedule begins on April 19th, when all students will be required to report to the gym for a school wide assembly. On April 20th, seniors report to the gym, juniors test in math, sophmores test in reading, and freshman report to the auditorium. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th period classes will go on after testing is over. On April 21st, seniors do on-demands, juniors test in math again, sophmores test in reading again, and freshman will once again be in the auditorium. On the 21st, both 3rd and 4th period classes will remain. On April 22nd, seniors will go to the auditorium, juniors will test in science, sophmores will PL/VS, and freshman will go to their testing rooms. 1st, 2nd, and 4th period will continue on after testing. On Friday 23rd, seniors will be rotating to various speakers, juniors will test in science again, sophmores will got to testing rooms and visit Owensboro Community College, and freshman will once again be in their testing rooms. On Monday, April 26th, regular class schedule in effect. On April 27th, seniors will report to testing rooms, juniors will test in social studies, sophmores will also report to testing rooms, and freshman will go to the auditorium. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th period will continue on after testing. On April 28th, seniors will go to the 300's for more speakers, juniors will finish their test in social studies, sophmores will report in the auditorium, and freshman will do the CTBS in senior testing rooms. On April 29th, seniors will be in the auditorium, juniors will test in Arts and Humanities, sophmores will report to testing rooms, and freshman will also be in their testing rooms. 1st, 3rd, and 4th period classes will continue on that day. On Friday, April 30th, which is a blue day, regular class schedule will be in effect.

When we are finished with testing, normal classes will go on. Like on some days testing goes on 1st, 3rd, and 4th periods, so therefore the only period that you will be testing is 2nd. So you will need your books for 1st, 3rd, and 4th period that day.

During testing, all students should try their best at each section of the test they are required to take. Everyone should put forth a good effort, because CATS Testing effects both the students and the teachers.
