Christmas abroad
by: Emma Hunt
Reporter

Because of conditions in Iraq, many families will not be able to to share Christmas together this year. On Christmas morning some will wake up to a different scene in the living room and there will be one less person.
Mike Trogden, father of Mandy Trogden, a junior , is an Appache Pilot which is considered to be one of the extreme. He is stationed in S. Korea but makes frequent flights over to the Iraqi nations. They bomb many places and this makes them a wanted dead target for all enemies.

Neil Board, stationed in Baghdad, Iraq is Ms. Board's son. Ms. Board works in the office and if you have not seen her office it is full of patriotic salutes. "I will miss having him home for Christmas." Lt. Board is a part of the Combined Joint Task Force System. Quickly summed up, he is in charge of tracking all soldiers in Iraq. Unlike Mandy Trogden who hasn't talked to her father since he left in the summer, Ms. Board talks to her son at least a couple of times a week. She communicates with several long e-mails and chats via satellite phone.

As a write I want to have a connection with the story I put out. As a sister I want to say how much a hero my brother Clatyon Hunt is to me. Clayton Hunt is a 1999 gradurate of Apollo. Stationed in N. Korea he has missed the birth of his first child and daughter, Skyler Rose, and now Christmas. Others and I communicate with him over the internet through voice, messenging, and webcam.
There are many in the Eagle family that have simuliar stories. For you that have family memebers not coming home this year for Christmas, be glad that you know a hero.
