So it’s that time of year again and the man himself is up at the pole getting ready to deliver toys to all the little rugrats around the globe. Mr. Clause has acquired a little problem that has gotten worse every year. “Obesity”! And whether we like it or not it is an issue we have to face. Of course Santa is supposed to be a little fat and if his belly didn’t rumble like a bowl full of jelly, it just wouldn’t be the same. But this year Santa is flirting with the line of morbidly obese.

But don’t start overreacting, the fate of Christmas is in no danger. We can do something to help our old pal; much of what he eats depends on us. I know the entire world is aware that his weakness is cookies.
I once heard that on Christmas Eve 1993 he ate more cookies than all of the factories in Kentucky could produce in a year. I am almost certain that all of those kids had the best intention and just wanted to give Santa something for all he does for them.
But hopefully next year you will care enough about him that you will give him some fruits, vegetables or at least a Fig Newton. So ultimately the choice is ours either we help Santa change his diet or Christmas will be lost.
