ROTC's ball held
at Apollo!

Once again January has arrived. The holiday
season is put to a halt for another year, as students
dread going back to thier same old routine. But wait!
Isn't the annual military ball for the JROTC in January?
Ahhh, of course, a time for the girls
of ROTC to look fabulous in their ball gown dresses (whether
it was last minute shopping or an older dress that fits
'just right')
Hair and nail appointments are made, as the guys of
ROTC press their slacks and search for their tie (in
other words, pick it up from the drycleaners down the
street).
When seven o'clock rolls around, the commons
area is ready to go. Starting the night off with the
'senior line,' just for a chance to get aquainted. Pool
tournaments, ping pong, and other games are provided
for entertainment.
'Hey it's not just a ROTC event, cadets
in the Corps were allowed to invite friends and dates
outside of ROTC.'
Ceremonial cutting of the cake was lead
by our corps commander Brandi Bidwell.
Later on in the night we announced the new Prince and
Princess juniors, and the king and queen seniors of
2004-2005.
Winner of Prince belongs to Jake list,
Princess falling in the hands of Aunjanae Hawthorne.
King went to Josh Robinson and our senior queen is handed
to Samantha Weaver.
All is well (even with the few angry people
for not winning king or queen or even prince or princess).
So the night continued until eleven o'clock.
Then, clean-up arrives as the 'dedicated'
cadets stay to help clean the aftermess. The military
ball has come and gone, for some the last one they will
have. For the rest, there's something to think about
other than getting up early when school starts in January.
