know that we have heard a million times about how bad our parking is in the school parking lot, well the complaining is back! The only thing this time is that we park almost perfect in the parking lot, with the exception of those few who really can't drive and those other few who just don't care. Our parking on the sides of the road is a big safety issue.

As we all know most of the seniors leave school after second or third period. The thing that I have noticed is when we are leaving the parking lot, hardly any of the other cars are gone. It's great not having to deal with all of the other drivers and never having a problem of having to wait in line. What is not great is that when I go to pull out of the parking lot, I can’t see. Yeah, you heard me, I can’t see. The issue is that the cars are parked up and down the side of the road. In most cases this would also be acceptable, but they are parked too close to where we pull out. The students who leave after fourth period don’t understand how big of a problem this is because usually the people on the sides of the road are already gone. The reason you can't see after second period is that the cars are pulled up so close to the place where you exit that it creates a wall so that you can't see if a car is coming on either side. Basically we have to guess if a car is coming, and then slam on the gas and pray that there is no one coming so that we don't get plowed by another car just trying to drive down the road.

I know of one instance that someone was trying to leave after third period. When they went to pullout of the parking lot they couldn’t see if a car was coming. They took that chance that we all have to take and pulled out. Just about that time another car crashed into the side of his car causing hundreds of dollars of damage to his beautiful Camero. It is fine to park on the road just leave a little space to see. I hope by reading this you guys who park on the side of the road don’t park so close to the exits. Show some consideration please!
