SuperBowl Sunday
byMatthew Johnson
Sports editor
Could this year be the year of the Colts,
Eagles, Panthers,or the Patriots. Well sunday January
the 18th we will find out just what teams will make it
to the big dance. After a close game with Packers that
went into overtime the Eagles hope to cap it off with
a Superbowl title.
All the questions of whether or not Payton
Manning and the Colts can win a playoff game have been
put to rest. After the amazing high scoring game against
the Cheifs. An overtime win aganst the Rams gave the
panthers their shot. It was not easy the Panthers kicked
a feild goal in over time but there was a delay of game
penalty. So in the second overtime. Delhome connected
with Steve Smith on a game ending Touchdown pass.
When the Patriots played the Titans everyone
knew it would be a good game and it was. With the Titans
only loseing by a Feild goal 17 to 14. Sunday the 18th
the Patriots face the colts and the Panthers.
The Colts and Patriots game puts the number 1 defense
up aganist the number 1 offense. With Patriots haveing
the number 1 deffense and haveing 3 shut outs at home
this seaon it should be a great game. The Patriots Defense
has also snatched 29 interceptions this season that is
the most in the league. And in the past during the playoffs
the defense usually whens the battle.
The Colts have several great things going for them their health and they have Payton Manninng at Quarterback. When asked about who he thinks will win this game Richard Long replied "Colts all the way."
The NFC Championship it will be the panthers and the Eagles. The panthers have the Nfl's best front four on defense . Although Stephen Davis is injured their backup Fostor has steped and played well by putting up 95 yards in the win aganist the St.Louis Rams.
The Eagles on the other hand are due an NFC title win. This is the third year in row the have wnt to the NFC title game. THe previous two years they played Tamps bay Bucs and the ST. Louis Rams. The way Mcnabb is playing they will be tough to beat. Mcnabb showed his talent aganist the Packers.
Sunday the 18th could be one of the greatest
showdowns in the NFC and in the AFC. Richard Long said "it
will be the Eagles and the Colts in the Superbowl".
