Student entrepreneur succeeds
by: Andrew Law -
Academics Editor
Apollo has many different types of students. Some are
leaders and some simply go with the flow. Senior Jeremy
Midkiff has already started his own business and is taking
charge.
Jeremy runs his very own landscaping business. Its called "Clean Cuts",
a new name as of this year. The business has been underway for three years now
and is still going strong.
Of course most of his business comes with the summer months, Jeremy takes care
of many things in the off season. During the winter months he does everything
from raking eaves to clearing fence rows, he does it all! The summer months
include landscaping, mowing, and any other odd jobs you might have for him. Last
summer he had close
to thirty yards!
He doesn't credit only himself for the
success of his business. There are other Apollo students
who help the Clean Cuts business. Luke Brigance, Steven
Padgent, Andrew Osborne, and Matt Baker have all helped
out with the business.
Jeremy doesn't just run out and blow all of his hard earned cash, he re-invests
it back in to his business. He already owns a tractor, lawn mower, multiple
weedeaters and leaf blowers.
Jeremy says that there are many benefits
to owning your own business. He always has a constant
income coming in, but the biggest benefit to owning the
business is the sense of pride he gets from every hard
days work he puts in to it.
It's because of students like Jeremy that make Apollo stand out and shine.
Only at Apollo could there be such outstanding students, already taking charge
and working toward there goals. Use people like Jeremy as an inspiration
to always aim high.
