Quiz Bowl squad conquers Western with remarkable season-ending triumph
by: E.B. Roberts- Senior Editor

Mrs. Wethington lead the Apollo Quiz Bowl team this season to victories in several competitions, ending in a favorite competition site for many of the team members: Western Kentucky University.

The Quiz Bowl team this year placed 2nd in the region, competing against teams from Ohio County, Daviess County McClean County and Muhlenberg North.
The competition on March 5 at Western was highly anticipated by the team. Team captain DeMarcus Curry loves going to Western to compete most of all because,"I enjoy the fun of it. That is one of my plans of college."

Team members include DeMarcus Curry, Jonathan Wright, Alex Hay, Erica Roberts, Cheri Gauselman and Jeremy Miller.

"I have enjoyed it," revealed Erica Roberts, a three-year participant in Quiz Bowl. "The trips are fun and you get to meet alot of new people from other schools. Make new friends and enemies, and see and learn new things!"
The training and competing season this year has been cut considerably shorter than those in the past.

On this situation, DeMarcus Curry additionally commented. He declared,"I liked it better longer just because you have more time to meet new people."
In preparation, the Quiz Bowl unit routinely practiced on Wednesdays, with competitions nearly every Monday.

"I think practices have been going very well," was a speculation made by Erica Roberts, upon contemplating the effectiveness of this year's practice techniques as opposed, perhaps, to the techniques of years past.

"I've been doing better this year!" she remarks. "I've actually been answering questions."
