Honors Night awards Apollo's best and brightest

By: Emilee Duvall
Business Manager

The school year would not be complete without a night honoring some of Apollo's hardest working students. And that's exactly what we did Tuesday May eleventh at AHS.
Awards were given in the departments of athletics, business, chorus, drama, english, Eagle's Laurels, foreign language, mathematics/conputer science, pathway to careers, science, social studies, technology education, yearbook, Principal's Leadership Award, student council awards, Students for Life, Key club, Beta club, Renaissance, Apollo Habitat for Humanity, Council for Exceptional Children, special awards for underclassmen, PTSO awards, the Eagle Award Eagle Admiration Scholarship, special awards for seniors, National Honors Society, Apollo's Sweet Sixteen, and the Honor Graduate. Many other scholarships were also given.

Class of 2004 guidance counselor, Kathlene Krake, could not have been more proud of this year's senior class.

One of the awards given that night was the Eagle Admiration award that was given to Ryne Mantooth. The Principal of Leadership Award was awarded to Shelly Roberts.
Some underclassmen awards were also given for the night. One was the Hugh O'Brian Award given Delana Hill. The University of Kentucky awarded the Class of Kentucky Award to Elizabeth Rogers.

Some CEC awards were given to Whitney Clark, Daniel Shelton, and Scott Warren.
Apollo also had students named to the National Merit Finalists and Corporation based on their 2003 PSAT score. These students were A.J. Estes, Katrina Boone, and Micheal Boone.

The Eagle's Laurels awards were given to seniors John Clark, Maegan Knight, Katrina Boone, and Kristi Keller.

Apollo's class of 2004 is filled with many talented and bright students who deserved to be recognized this special night. Congratulations to all the recipients of these awards.
