Remember kiddos, life's waiting
by: Brandon Farmer
The Boss
Well guys, this is my last editoral for this school ever. I am sure that plenty of you are all out screaming with joy, but for those who will miss me, I hope you enjoy this last entry.
I really am ready to graduate, although I will miss this fine school. Instead of looking back, however, I think it's best to move on and enjoy everything that life has waiting for you. For example, leave this state. When you are done, get out and stretch your wings! Through the military, bus, train, or even foot, go out and see the world. This is the best way to learn everything: experience. Also, it helps to get away from familiar things, and be confused. Imagine how better off you will become once you are able to completely adapt to new environments!
Now, some people will have you believe the friends you made during high school will be the best that you ever had in your life. Personally, I think that is a very brash statement. Once you have gone out into the world, and no longer forced to be around the same people everyday, you will be surprised how many you will actually miss. For me, I will probably truly miss about five. I have no intention saying who they are, and they know who they are anyway, so I shall muddle on.
Okay, as my next tidbit of wisdom, I shall try to help you with schoolwork. Here is my best advice on ALWAYS getting perfect scores: do it. Yeah, that is the best way to get the perfect grade. Stop playing games, talking with friends, or whatever it is you kids do to pretend to have a social life. You won't always be around these people, but your life will be there everyday. Believe me, I tried to ditch life countless times, but he's like a virus. That said, do your homework, study for tests, and make the grades. To even further your potential, I suggest you take the hardest classes that you can, even if you can't always be in the same things your friends are in. Also, drop out of any sport you are in. Sports are dumb, and you don't get any scholarly learning out of it. Excercise is great, but sports will consume your life and make it impossible to study at times. Unless you want to be a stupid jock. Nobody likes jocks. So drop out, and read a book.
On philosophy, you should adopt this belief, "I'm the boss". If you are man enough to be the boss of your life, then you shall go farther than you ever imagined in anything. Do what is best for yourself, and don't let anyone tell you that your actions are wrong. Please do not twist my words into a reason to be some lazy dolt, use them as a way to perfect yourself into an upstanding citizen that can be a model for society. Just take control of your life, and see where it takes you.
Before I end this, I think that I should tell you guys that thoughout life you need to "keep it real". Nobody likes psuedo-rebels, or those goth-mopey wannabe things, so ignore them. If you want to be a rebel, take a stand and do something, or just be quiet. As for the gothy-wannabes, wipe those ridiculous tears off your face and grow up. Life isn't meant to be spent crying over, so look on the bright side of things and have fun. Also, I suggest you get a different taste in music, because Cradle of Filth is a terrible band. (I thought I would just get that off my chest, but seriously, this will help you in life. Trust me).
Okay, I guess that just about wraps it up. I hope you kids can survive without me, because I am not going to be here anymore as your shining light of guidance. From now on, you will have to take care of yourself, so have a nice life.
