The Tennis team is on the ball

The tennis team at Apollo has a new coach this season his name is Keith Mays.Also the assitit coach of Apollo High School is our very own Tyler Robertson. The team has not done to bad this year winning four of seven matches as a team. The team consits of 6 boys and 8 girls.

Their first match was at Apollo against Handcock Co. on March the 29. The very next night they competed against Daviess Co. the guys played at Daviess Co. ther girls played here.

On April 12-15 apollo competed against the district teams of Ohio Co, Daviess Co, and Catholic. April 17 the tennis team competed in a quad match at Lone oak- high school in paducah. April 19-22 the Apollo girls and boys tennis team competed in the Don moore sports warehouse classic at moreland park and KWC.

April 27- 29 apollo played Daviess Co, Ohio Co, then Owensboro. May 10-13 Apollo competes in their district rival and reg. foes Henderson Co and Ohio county.

The tennis team has practise Monday through Friday 3:30- 5:30 except on game days. They prepare for games the same way every game by practise eveyday after school. They practise on our courts unless it is wet then they practise at the tennis club down town.
When asked how he enjoied his first year on the tennis team Lance Camp replied "I have enjoyied this great learning experience and I am looking forward to the next two years."

When the tennis team has a match they are usually at 4:00 or 4:30. When Lance Camp was asked how he liked the practise they coach Mays conducted he replied by saying "they are a lot of fun and hard work and coach Mays always brings food."

Students the tennis team would like it if students would come out and support them in the regional tournament. And to continue that support next year.
