I. Senior Picnic
Tuesday, May 18th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
1. There is no cost for admission.
2. Lunch will be served at no cost to you.
3. Seniors are not to leave fenced area. You are not to be in cars during the day. If you leave the fenced areas you will not be allowed to re-enter.
4. Any evidence of alcohol or drugs will prevent you from taking part in the Graduation Ceremonies. VERY IMPORTANT!
5. Please help us to clean the area before leaving. This will help next year's class.
6. Be respectful of the rules at Atlantis. We cannot afford a tragedy. Absolutely no running or throwing people in!
7. Swimming can be dangerous. Any student disobeying lifeguards will be asked to leave.
8. Class sponsors will be supervising the entire area.
II. Senior Appreciation Breakfast
Wednesday, May 19th, 9:00 a.m. Commons Area
There will be a sign up sheet on the Senior Bulletin Board during the week of May 10th - 14th for you to make your Appreciation Breakfast reservation. We encourage all of you to participate. There is no charge to you. This is just another small token of our appreciation to you, the Class of 2004. Please sign-up by May 14th so that we may give a reservation number to the lunchroom staff.
III. Commencement Practices - Mandatory
Wednesday, May 19th, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Sportscenter
Friday, May 21st, 9:30 a.m. - until done, Sportscenter
1. What to bring to practice: Cap with Tassel ONLY ( You do not need your stole)
2. We will begin promptly. If you are not at Commencement practice, you will be automatically placed at the end of the line. The official line will be made at practice and will not be changed.
3. Cues for standing, being seated, and removal of caps will be given at practice.
IV. Commencement
Friday, May 21st, Sportscenter, 6:30 p.m.
1. Seniors should be at the sportscenter by 5:45 p.m. and in line by 6:00 p.m.
2. Make sure you know your row and seat number. Remember who is sitting next to
you.
3. Be sure you have:
a. cap f. shoes (girls should wear white, brown, black)
b. gown g. NO tennis shoes
c. stole h. boys wear dress slacks (NO jeans)
d. necktie (boys) i. girls wear a dress or skirt
e. bobby pins (girls) j. Graduation Picture Order Form
4. Valedictorian, Salutatorian & Honor Graduate should turn in their speeches to Mr. Purcell by Friday, May 14th.
5. Seniors doing the Opening & Closing should see Mr. Purcell by Friday, May 14th.
6. No chewing gum will be allowed.
7. No one will be allowed on the Sportscenter floor once the ceremony begins.
8. Pictures will be made of each senior receiving a diploma. You will be given an order form for pictures from Lifetouch. Mrs. Burton will collect order forms and money from you when you are standing in line before you walk in to graduate. Mrs. Burton will turn in the order forms to the photographer at the ceremony. You will be responsible to mail in your order to Lifetouch if you forget to bring it to the graduation ceremony.
9. If there is potential that you will not have enough credits to graduate or to pass your required classes, you will need to check with Mr. Taylor or Mr. Johnson before the end of the day on Monday, May 17th. It is very embarrassing to be taken from the line during practice, so check ahead. In order to receive your diploma the night of graduation, all obligations must be taken care of by 12:00 noon, Thursday May 13th. Mr. Scott will collect for these obligations.
10. If you receive the wrong diploma, come immediately to the stage after the graduation exercises are over.
11. In past years there has been some yelling and cheering during the announcing of names. It is embarrassing to you and your classmates. We want you to inform your friends and relatives that if they cause a disturbance and interfere with the dignity of the ceremony, they will be escorted from the building.
