a growing epidemic and we as parents need to know the facts

Summit; For a Healthier US
Saturday, September 20th 8:30-1:00

habits increase obesity, higher numbers of cancer, heart diseases,
stroke and other health concerns. By helping our family, friends,
and neighbors learn how to make better nutritional choices,
increase exercise and adopt overall healthier lifestyles,
we believe this trend can be reversed. We want to know what
YOU think. Bring your ideas to help make a healthier difference
in our community.

Do you have fewer strategies to get your point across? Are you

your teenager? In this session, you will learn how to listen
and communicate effectively with your teenager (ages 12-18),
learn from your mistakes, let go, and empower your teens to
become responsible for themselves. This is not “mission
impossible” - it is common sense parenting for teenagers.
Step-Blended
Parenting
Tuesday, Oct. 14
Burns Elementary
Tim Allman, MA
Family Dynamics |
Step-parenting can be an emotional minefield.
Children can suffer a triple loss, with resulting grief. They
lose their “original family” in divorce, their special
relationship with the custodial parent in dating and remarriage,
and their own sense of significance when they are marginalized
as the new couple bonds and adjusts. Instant love and acceptance
is an ongoing relationship with the non-custodial parents and
the connection with step-siblings.
