Here is some information that I want to share with you, so please read and pass this letter along to your parent.
Thursday, October 21 at 1:06 (end of 3rd period)—ACT information workshop. I will review difference between ACT and SAT and show how to fill out ACT packet and review the testing format.
Thursday, October 27 at 10:06 (2nd period) – ACT information workshop
ALL ATHLETES SHOULD TAKE THE ACT OR SAT AT LEAST ONCE THIS YEAR. WHEN FILLING OUT THE APPLICATION, YOU MUST PUT THE NCAA CLEARINGHOUSE CODE ON THE FORM. IF YOU DO NOT SEND CLEARINGHOUSE YOUR ACT SCORES, YOUR SCORES WILL NOT BE REPORTED. THE CODE IS 9999
THE APOLLO HIGH SCHOOL CODE IS 182033 AND THIS ALSO NEEDS TO BE ON THE APPLICATION. This applies to every student taking the ACT or SAT.
INFORMATION WAS SENT TO ALL ENGLISH TEACHERS REGARDG THE GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS ONE DAY WORKSHOPS. Students can register on-line at www.kentuckygsa.org or by calling 502-562-0192. If you have questions, please stop by and I will explain the details.

Please remember the 2 essay contest that are available to you—The Voice of Democracy (Information is on the Web) and the Concrete essay (English teacher has a copy of this).
Please use the website, www.collegeboard.com to research colleges and scholarships. The service is FREE.
I have not received any information regarding the Governor’s Scholars Program. Listen to the announcements for this information and I will also email your English teacher and let you know.
National Scholarship Service offers a free college advisory and referral service for students who plan to attend two-or four year colleges. Scores will be sent for juniors who indicate that they are African American or black students.

There are 135 juniors that signed up to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 13 th during 1 st and 2 nd period. Please bring a calculator and pencils with you. To find out where you will test, look on the testing room roster located in front of the guidance office.
