UPDATE FOR JUNIOR PARENTS—
ALL JUNIORS WERE GIVEN THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO LOOK UP THEIR KEES MONIES. EACH STUDENT WAS ALSO GIVEN A BROCHURE THAT EXPLAINED HOW THEY EARNED MONEY FROM THEIR GRADES AS WELL AS THEIR SCORES FROM THE SAT/ACT.
JUNIOR LETTERS-Juniors periodically receive letters from me. I give them out through the English classes. Please review the letters. IF YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE OF MY LETTERS- you can go on the Apollo High School Website—www.ahs.dcps.org and click on the guidance tab. You will then see a section that reads Juniors—you will find all the information that I have sent out to the students. I will continue to send the students informational letters and post them on the web. Continue reviewing this site for more information.
If you attended the Junior meeting that I had in September, I gave you a website to go on to research career information, ACT practice tests, and scholarship information. This website changed shortly after our meeting (so sorry and I was not aware of the change), but it has been updated. Directions are:
1. Go to Apollo’s website www.ahs.dcps.org
2. Click on the guidance tab
3. Click on eguidance (under the topic “General News”
4. Read directions and click on www.access.bridges.com
Continue to follow the directions. Student will be asked a username and password. Student must remember what he/she typed in exactly because this is what you will use every time you go back into this program.
Submit information and you are ready to begin.
The TEST GEAR section requires a Code and the junior must stop by and see me for this number.
Continue to monitor the student grades and contact the teacher(s) if necessary. Thank you for your support and if I can be of assistance, please let me know.
***On October 13, 135 juniors took the national PSAT test. Results will be back in December (hopefully) and I would like to give these out during a night meeting. Further information will be sent later on.
