Senior Guidance News # 4

The end of the first nine weeks is on Friday, 10/8. Report cards will be distributed in CAP Group on Wednesday, 10/20. Speaking of CAP Group, how many Discount Cards did you sell? I was in Ms. Humphrey’s room and their CAP Group sold 37.

We have two remaining ACT Workshops. They are English on 10/12 and Math on 10/19 from 6:30 to 8:00 in the auditorium. For those of you registered for the 10/23 ACT, you should be looking over some practice questions/tests to prepare.

The # 1 way to determine how serious you are about attending a certain college is to get on the campus for a visit. We are out of school on October 14 th and 15 th as well as November 1 st and 2 nd and these are great extended weekends for you to make a campus visit. Please call the campus in advance to notify the school that you are coming. You are also allowed one college visit day and this must be cleared by Mr. Broughton’s Office.

If you need a transcript from the Guidance Office, remember that your first and last ones are free. When you graduate in May, we will send your final transcript to the school you will be attending. Other than the 2 free ones, each transcript will cost $1. Ms. Tong or Ms. Stewart can take care of your transcripts for you. If you need a letter of recommendation or a form filled out for a scholarship or admission, let me know in advance so that I can do a quality job for you.

Deadlines are important! Do not miss them!

Please remember that we want everyone to be able to participate in Graduation in May, so you must pass your required classes and accumulate the required number of credits. If you are struggling, go to Extended School. It is open Tuesday through Thursday mornings from 7 until 8 and 3:30-4:30.
