Senior Newsletter # 8 February 14, 2005
Important Dates and Announcements:
- Wednesday, 2/16-CAP Group at 11:00. Assembly for seniors, so report directly to the auditorium. Cap and Gown plus senior voting.
- Thursday, 2/17 and Friday, 2/18 Balfour Packets for graduation invitations due with full payment in front of the Attendance Office.
- Tuesday, 3/1-Cap and Gown Orders are due.
- Wednesday, 2/16-USI Reception at River Park Center .
- Sunday, 2/27-Free help filling out your FAFSA at KWC from 2-5 in the Winchester Building . You and your parents should attend if you have not filed the FAFSA at this time. Bring your tax information with you.
- ACT Prep Classes at OCC-Math is on Thursday nights in March, English is on Saturday, March 19 and Science is on March 5. Call 686-4444 to register. Call soon, often these workshops fill up fast.
- Looking for a job-the City of Owensboro Parks and Recreation is hiring in many areas. There are flyers in the Guidance Office on the counter.
- Monday, February 21 and Friday, March 11-No School-take a college visit.
- Saturday, April 9, ACT-register by March 4 if you need to take it again.
Scholarships:
73. UK Mining Engineering Scholarship-21 ACT and a 2.75
74. Louisville Tech Scholarship Day-February 19 th -you must register to attend
75. RiverPark EyeCare Scholarship-Based on financial need and academic achievement, $400 and due March 15, 3 to 4 paragraph on career goals and financial need
76. Travelers Protective Association (TPA)-must have some type of disability and planning to attend college. This is due to Mr. Johnson by 3:15 on February 23 rd .
77. Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority Scholarship-$100, 250 words on yourself and goals. This is a local scholarship.

79. Making College Count-$1,000 if you exhibit "Winning Characteristics" www.makingitcount.com/scholarship
80. Autism Society of Western Kentucky -$500, if you or a family member have Autism or plan on working in special education with students, you should apply for this. The deadline is March 18.
81. American Society for Quality-$500-one page essay on what quality means to you. Deadline is April 1.
82. Charles A Reid Scholarship from Brescia University-3.0, financial need, 150 word essay.
83. Girls Incorporated Scholarship-all females are eligible-$1,000 and is based on need, essay, gpa and extra-curricular involvement.
84. DCEA Scholarship-Is your parent a teacher and a member of DCEA?2.5 g.p.a. and an essay about an educator that has inspired you.
