CATS TESTING BEGINS MONDAY, APRIL 18th

Dear Sophomore Parent(s), April 8, 2005

Mark your calendars and help your child be prepared, Apollo will be CATS testing in the mornings beginning Monday, April 18th through Friday April 29th. All grade levels will be tested and figured in for accountability. Therefore, the Daviess County Public Schools policy requires that high school students MUST: (a) participate in the appropriate CATS Test, (b) make a "Good Faith Effort" to complete the test to the best of his/her ability, and (c) submit the appropriate CATS Test to the proper agency for scoring. A student must be in compliance with these requirements in order to receive a diploma from Daviess County Schools. The Apollo Assessment Committee has made plans to provide rewards and incentives for students who make a "Good Faith Effort" . What can parents do during the testing window? Support your son or daughter, continue to assist Apollo in building a home-school partnership. Testing can be especially tiring. Encourage your child to be well rested and to have a good breakfast each day . Attendance is extremely important . The total assessment score is based upon every students participation. Please try not to schedule any appointments during test days. Reschedule any appointments if at all possible, students checking out will have to be approved through the attendance office. Students out during testing time will have to miss class time in order to make up CATS testing. Encourage your child to take the test seriously and give it his/her best effort
