Slide show - Spring Information for Sophomores
- Grade cards went home Wednesday, 1/12 as well as PLAN scores
- Using agenda & ESS services (time & days)
- PSAT results & using test booklet to check incorrect answers
- PLAN test booklet & checking incorrect answers
- Explore scores taken in 8th grade
- HT check KEES online (show them if possible) & remind parents how students earn it!
- Scheduling for JUNIOR year starts 2/1/05; NO scheduling advisement (only for freshmen); students schedule online; parent(s) work with them on this. Also, discuss the OTC programs as juniors handout & students taking Peer Tutoring & Public Speaking!
- John B. & Brownie Young Memorial Fund scholarship qualifications (top 1/3 rank, cumulative, after 1st semester of senior yr).
- Tell about the FRYSC programs offered in our community such as Financial Planning, person from Hilliard Lyons (1/18 @6:30 pm. @DCPS Board office on Southeastern Pkwy); and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (1/27 @ 5:30 p.m. @ O’boro 5-6 Ctr).
- CATS Testing for AHS- window is 4/18-4/29; Sophs tested on reading & practical living.
- Discuss postcard information (ACT, PSAT Prep sessions) have parent(s) complete & on back side, discuss career speaker opportunity for parents as well as soph talent show!
- When to take the SAT I (college entrance test)
- Summer plans- job shadowing, “candy strippers” @ OMHS, medical field is job security these days
- Privileges: cell phone & driver’s license (10th grade issues)
- Dreams & Plans & family discussions & communication skills
- eGuidance on AHS web site
- Attendance, grades, PIN #----
- ACT Testing dates….
