This course addresses the practical problems related
to: understanding the types of growth and development,
recognizing the effects of heredity and environment
on human growth and development, understanding the
stages of human growth and development, meeting the
needs of exceptional children, and promoting optimum
growth and development in the infancy, toddler, preschool,
middle childhood, adolescent, and adulthood stages.
It offers opportunities to observe children and work
with children in a simulated child care playschool.

life skills and positive strategies in achieving and
maintaining mental and emotional wellness. Family
life education comprises a portion of this course,
including dating and married relationship. Preparation

emphasized. This course is a good elective for students

for parenthood. It involves the study of human reproduction,
prenatal development, postpartum care, care of the

life-style, and the prevention of family violence.

in careers in health and social services occupations.

sewing skills. Pupils develop an understanding of
textile fabrics, principles of clothing design and
clothing labeling as well as constructing a minimum
of two projects. This course may serve as a supplemental
