This course is designed to give students hands-on
experience in the operation and repair of small engines.
The content of this course includes maintenance, repair,
and operation of small combustion-type engines. Content
may be enhanced with appropriate computer applications.
Leadership development will be provided through FFA.
Each student will be expected to have an agricultural
experience program. All students taking this class
will be required to bring in a small engine to work
on for a class project.
AGRICULTURE CONSTRUCTION 2

This class prepares students to construct and maintain
agricultural structures and equipment. Develops basic
skills such as: tool identification interpreting plans,
carpentry, welding, metal fabrication, fencing, and
calculating a bill of materials. Content may be enhanced
with appropriate computer applications, and leadership
development will be provided through FFA. Each student
will be expected to have an agricultural experience
program. This course is enhanced with laboratory experience,
project construction, and in-depth skill development.
SMALL ANIMAL TECHNOLOGY 1

This course develops scientific knowledge and skills
pertaining to nutrition, health, general care, and
breed identification for small animals such as dogs,
cats, and rabbits. Content may be enhanced with appropriate
computer applications. Various field trips will be
taken to enhance classroom instruction. Leadership
development will be provided through FFA. Each student
will be expected to have an experience program.
ANIMAL SCIENCE 1 Semester(s)

This course is designed to give students a broad understanding
of animal agriculture. Components of the class include
animal reproduction, health, breeding and animal breeds.
The course is broadcast three days a week through
the KET Star Channel System featuring professors from
the cooperating colleges including Kentucky and some
other states which are conducting the course. At the
end of the course, students will have the option to
take a standardized final exam, which can determine
college credit eligibility.
DIVERSIFIED AGRICULTURAL 2 Semester(s) 1 Credit(s)
This course provides opportunities to develop skills
in: job searching, preparing resumes, writing letters
of application, job interviews, attitude at work,
communicating effectively, human relations, and accepting
responsibilities. Content may be enhanced with appropriate
computer applications. Various field trips may be
taken to enhance classroom instruction. Leadership
development will be provided through FFA. Each student
will be expected to have an agricultural experience
program.
ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY 1

This course introduces the issues of environmental
technology. The curriculum includes opportunities
in plant and wildlife identification as well as management.
The class also includes instruction in fish and wildlife
management, land stabilization and reclamation practices,
and soil and water conservation. Content may be enhanced
with appropriate computer application. Leadership
development will be provided through FFA. Each student
will be expected to have an agricultural experience
program. This class will cover today's changing environment
and it's impact on agriculture.
