This course follows a chronological survey of World
Civilization from 1500-present using a variety of tools
including primary and secondary sources, data, and artifacts.
This chronological perspective helps the students develop
an understanding of the importance of eras in World
Civilization and recognizes cause-and-effect relationships,
multiple causation, and the role of individuals and
groups, social, political, economic, and geographic
characteristics of each era. World Civilization is a
graduation requirement for all students.

The exact content of this course will depend on that
which is happening within the nation, and within the
world at the time the course is being taken. The media
will be the primary source of information for this course.
Fine Arts accel.
This course is an interdisciplinary survey of the beliefs,
thoughts, values, traditions, and customs of humankind
as reflected in history, art, literature, language,
and folklore. Note: The Arts & Humanities Core Content
Guidelines will be emphasized.
