This course is a survey of political, social, cultural,
and economic aspects of United States history from 1865
to the present. US History is a graduation requirement
for all students.
U.S. AMERICAN HISTORY AP Semesters 2
Social Studies Credits 1
This course covers American history from the time of
Columbus to the present. It requires that students be
serious about the subject. It requires that students
take initiative and pursue the assigned topics without
being constantly checked upon. It requires that students
have an ability to write, as much essay writing as necessary.
Students must have the recommendation of their world
civilization teacher and may be interviewed before being
finally scheduled into this class. Membership in this
course qualifies the student to take an examination
which, if an acceptable score is made, earns credit
in most of Kentucky’s colleges. A US History course
is required of all juniors as a requirement for graduation.
This level meet the requirements of the honors program
and the advanced comprehensive program.
