CAREER TRANSITION
I (1ST YEAR) Comp Semesters 2
Business Credits 1
This is a course for students at the secondary level
focusing on orientation to careers. The course is designed
for all students; however, special populations should
have a high priority in enrolling in this class. This
course includes an introduction to the fourteen career
clusters and places emphasis on the link between career
assessment and career goals as identified in the Student
Career/Transition Plan. Course content focuses on employability
skills which includes basic skills instruction in reading,
mathematics, and communication. Personal qualities of
responsibility, self-esteem, sociability, self- management,
work ethics, and integrity are developed through job
and school-related activities. Opportunities are to
be provided for students to learn problem solving, decision
making, reasoning, creative thinking, and learning/study
skills. Work-based learning activities include job shadowing
experiences, preceded by training related to safety,
liability and labor laws.
CAREER TRANSITION II (2nd year) Comp Semesters 2

Career Transition is a continuation of the one credit
Career Networking course. This course provides opportunities
for work experience along with classroom in-depth exploration

The class is open to 10th through 12th grades. It is
a class for those students who have an interest in developing
flexibility, strength, and muscular coordination through
tumbling and aerobics. All students must take a fitness
test at the beginning of the class.
