Beginning in 1969 as Apollo Junior High, AHS was chartered as the newest high school in this area in 1972. The first graduation was in 1974. Apollo just celebrated its 25th graduation with the Class of 1998. The school has now been in existance for thirty years as AJHS and AHS as of the 1998-99 school year. Changes all the way from the open classroom to the flex-8 block scheduling have taken place in those thirty years. Apollo's tradition in both academic and athletic areas has grown throughout those years. The school is now known state wide and in some instances nationwide for its accomplishments.
