CATS schedule 2005

CATs testing began on April 18th with a school wide assembly in the gym during first period. A few students were selected to be hypnotized during the assembly and were mad e to do some funny things like acitng as famous country singers.

Seniors tested only on Tuesday April 19th. The seniors did an on demand writing. On Wednesday April 20th the seniors went to the gym to listening to career speakers.
Juniors tested in math on Tuesday April 19th and Wednesday, April 20th. On Thursday, April 21st and Friday April 22nd, they tested in science and social studies. Testing also lasted two days on April 26th and 27th. Juniors last day of testing was in Arts and Humanities on April 28th.

Sophomores tested in reading on the 19th and 20th. On Wednesday the 27th sophomores attended the “Why Try” program, in the 300’s circle. On Thursday the 28th sophomores went in the auditorium for the tenth grade talent show. The talent show was entertaining and many students participated in it Freshmen were in the auditorium on the 19th with a StateTrooper. Then on the 20th and 22nd freshman went on a field trip to Common Ground or in the auditorium on Wednesday, the 27th, freshmen toke the CTBS.

Good Faith incentives were issued at the end of testing. These incentives vary for each grade. For seniors their rewards include a hat day and one free breakfast. Juniors will recieve a hat day, a pizza party during fourth block, and three exam exemptions to be used at the end of this school year. Sophomores will recieve a hat day, coke and candy party, and two exam exemptions. Freshman get a hat day, one free homework pass, and one exam exemption. All students recieved a good faith card at the end of testing on April 28th.

There are also merit incentives based on your scores which will be recieved in September of 2005. You must get all proficient and distinguished. Juniors can get sports tickets, one game per sport, a senior hoodie and a “Friday After 3:05.” Which means you can get out of school ten minutes early one time each nine weeks. Juniors can also recieve senior year spring exemptions. Sophmores will recieve a sports ticket, an AHS CATS t-shirt, “Friday After 3:05,” and one exam exemption for the spring finals. Freshmen will recieve a sports ticket for scoring in the 92% percentile.

Students don’t forget to try hard on your CATS and the school year is almost over.
