by: Amber Spurrier
Reporter

There have been two more seniors and the last chosen for the Senior Sweet Sixteen. They are Beth Ewing and Joni Mattingly.

Beth Ewing has been involved in many clubs while at Apollo High School. She has been in Beta Club for two years and Public Relations during twelth grade. Beth had been on Student Council as a representative for two years and served as Executive Secretary during twelth grade. She is involved with National Honor Society where she is president and has been active for two years. Beth has also been on Renaissance Committee for two years as well. She is a member of Key Club and Graduation Committee. During all four years at Apollo, she has been involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Christian Student Involvement. She has also been a member of Spirit Club for two years and Prom Committee during her junior year.

Outside of Apollo, Beth is in the youth group at Owensboro Christian Church. Her hobbies include eating, running, reading, and hanging out with friends.

Her plans after graduation are attending Georgetown College and majoring in communications and minors in English and Spanish.

What she remembers the most about her time spent at Apollo High School is all the girls night outs, never having a date for any dance, ice skating and zambonis, making fun of Mr. Hahus with Jessica while trying to study, and the South East Conference tournament in 2004.

The second recipient is Joni Mattingly. While at Apollo, Joni has been involved with chorus for four years. In ninth grade, she was a Student Council representative. During her junior and senior years, she was a dancer for the Eaglettes. For four years she was a member of Champions Against Drugs, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Christian Student Involvement. During eleventh and twelth grade, she was involved with Spirit Club. Outside of Apollo, Joni was a worship leader her freshmen year at Owensboro Covenant Youth Group, Sunday Worship Team at Light House Christian Church her freshmen and sophomore years, a volunteer for interpretive dancer for many churches in the area, and a worker at the annual Multicultural Festival.

Her hobbies include singing, dancing, playing the guitar, scrapbooking, and lately she’s been planning her wedding. Joni works as a dance and tumble instructor at the YMCA.
After graduation, Joni plan s on getting married July 2, 2005 to Daniel Graham, a soldier in the United States Air Force, and she will be attending Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona.

What Joni will remember the most about her time spent at Apollo is her best friend, Lindsey Hamilton, and all of their wonderfully intriguing moments that have tuaght them so much, chorus trips with Ms. Elliot, IB art class with Phelpsy, and all the IB art kids.
