Merry Christmas, or is it Feliz Navidad? A multi-lingual look at seaonal greetings
by: Emilee Duvall
Business Manager
Christmas is celebrated around the world each year. Lots of folks run around wishing their loved ones to have a “Merry Christmas!” However, some may say it in a different language....
In Spanish speaking countries they say,
“Feliz Navidad!”
In German, you say it,
“Frohe Weihnachten!”
Thanks Sonya!
You can wish your Hawiian friend (cough, Linds) a Merry Christmas by saying,
“Mele Kalikimaka”
French speaking people would say,
“Joyeux Noel”
If your going to Notre Dame, like Billy Griggs, and want to be nice to your Irish chums, you would say,
“Nollaig Shona Dhuit”
And in the words of Snoop Dogg,
“Merry Chrizzle home slice!!”
