Matthew Johnson and Andy Roberts: Too weird for words
by: Salena Evans
Associate Features Editor
Matthew Johnson is also known as Chew. At least to his mom and older sister Jenna. Matt, Matthew, Matchew, whatever he is known by , he is still the same strange adorable guy.
An optimistic freedom loving Saggitarious born on November 29, 1986, he has recently matured into an adult. Well, at least he’s at the adult age. As such he has taken the time to plan his future and develop his ideas and passions about life into an available reality.
So it’s no suprise that Chew has decided upon majoring in youth ministry, most likely at Clear Creek Baptist Bible Church or Boyce Bible College.
A lover of not only his religion but also of the arts he has chosen varieties of favorites. Like his favorite band. He doesn’t have just one, he has many. A few are Switchfoot, Van Halen, The Doors, Thursday, and Story of the Year.
He also has a variety of of favorite movies. So many that he has to categorize his favorites. His favorite western is Tombstone, his favorite action is Live and Let Die, and for Drama it’s the Green Mile. His favorite horror is the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, his favorite comedy is There’s Something About Mary, and his favorite epic is the Lord of the Rings series.
Being a controvarsial man Matthew doesn’t just commit to VHS and DVD’s but also watches the television. He says he’s not into silly shows like MTV, he likes to watch Fuse, Viva La Bam, Wild Boyz, Family Guy, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, Sports Center, and the old reruns of the good Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Being a lover of good food as well, his favorite food is the mouth watering prime rib or anything from Olive Garden.
Most likely his friends see him getting around to places like Olive Garden in his distinguished gray and white 02’Chevy S10 with an unexplainable maroon door. A symbol of Matt’s distinguished style and unique wierdness. But as long as Matt gets from point A to point B he doesn’t really mind.
Matt is one of the last in a dying breed of curteous, chivalrous, morally correct, and still adorable males in our time.
A great example would be his rare, at least for males of his age, goal in life to be a good father to his future children.
Then you take his best friend, Andy Roberts. Andy is too weird for words alone, but when you see Matt and Andy together you get a world of complete chaos, mischief, crazy comedy, and fun filled laughter that can fill the rest of your day. You just know these things.
His friends have the best thoughts and feelings towards him.. Take Josh Hamilton, who describes Andy as “A fantastic fun friend factor”, and Rachel DeWeese, who thinks of Andy as “A true artist. I can’t give you a good enough reason than the fact that he just is. You just know these things.”
Don’t forget Matt’s comment , “ He’s Batman and I’m the superhero sidekick Robin; because I’m the one who can fit into the skimpy tights!”
Andy isn’t just crazy times and immaturity on a mature level, he also has the abiltity to plan and is responsible enough to realize when to. At least when it comes to his future.
Andy plans on attending Western Kentucky University and, while he doesn’t have a set major, he has a generalized idea to study film, journalism, or something in the field of art. He knows to keep his options open but wants to have a career where his creative flow isn’t oppressed by “the man”.
Andy, just like Matt, has style and also has a wide variety of favorites. His favorite bands are Lit, Something Corporate, and Blink-182.
His favorite movies are The Crow, Fight Club, Seven, Boondox, and Toy Story. His favorite T.V. show is That 70’s Show.
Andy’s favorite place to eat is McDonalds, because it’s cheap. His favorite thing to do is draw.
An interesting comment from Andy was that if he had a million dollars he would buy an island, invite a bunch of people, and then kick them off.
But, on a more serious note, all Andy wants in life is to become a household name like Michael Moore or Steven Speilberg.
