Schadler, Mantooth named to February Sweet Sixteen
by: Jessica Coomes
Senior/News Editor

As the year seems to be coming to a close, two more of the Senior Sweet Sixteen have been announced.

Seniors Bridget Schadler and Kara Mantooth are the two newest seniors to be named for this award.

While Bridget has been at Apollo, she has been involved in: FFA for 4 years (member of State Champion Small Engines Team, and Banquet Comittee, and chairman in 11th grade), and FBLA in the 9th grad.

Outside of Apollo she is on the West Louisville Playground softball team. After graduation, Bridget plans on attending Murray State University to major in agriculture buisness or ag. education.

When asked about what she will remember most about Apollo: all the times with Casey and Crystal in Mr. Paff’s World Civ class, being on the first small engines team from Apollo to send girls and to win at state, going to Denny’s at 4 in the morning because we wanted breakfast now!, the flight attendant on the way to WLC, thinking that Boone, Casey, Maria, Carrie, Susan, and I were all Mr. Morgan’s kids, getting thrown in the pool on my 16th birthday, cramming into Andy’s car on Sadie Hawkins, and all of the moments I spent with Stephen Coke.

While at Apollo, Kara was involved in: Student Council all four years, yearbook (11th&12th), media technology (11th& 12th), the prom and graduation comittee, golf team (1999-2004), Renaissance, FCA, basketball (2001-2005), and Young Democrats. Outside of Apollo, she is on the Messenger-Inquirer teen board, Cumberland

resbyterian Youth Council, a member of Owensboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church & youth, and pop warner cheerleading coach.

After graduation, Kara plans on attending Murray State University and major in public relations and go to graduate school.

When asked what she will remember most about Apollo, Kara replied: all the early morning golf trips where it was left up to G and me to entertain with our own original jokes, how happy I was and still am that the basketball girls understood what I meant when I said that I just couldn’t take it, doing the chicken dance at half time of the DC football game, watching my dad coach and my brother play baseball and basketball state tournaments, the high speed chases through Thoroughbred Acres, and of course all of the great times with my best friends: Hannah, Raina, Jessica, Jodi, Kelly, Kristen, and Amber.
