Eagles soaring in wrestling

This year the wrestling team has added several new members. They have 15 wrestlers this year including middle school and high school competitors.

Apollo has competed in many matches but has not won one yet. However, they are optimistic and keep working hard to win their upcoming matches. Apollo will compete in the regional and state tournements in February.

When Aaron Barnes was asked how many matches he has won, he replied, “Less then some but more then most.” Many of the players the boys face have been wrestling for far longer than 3 months, which is the duration of our guys experience.
The wresling team’s next match is going to be at West Louisville Elemetry school where they will compete against local highschools.

The wrestling team is in its third year at Apollo un the instruction of Kenny Stone and it has already grown. So the success of the first wrestling team has impacted the interest in wrestling even to the middle school level.
