Athletes of the Issue

Sophomore
Whitney Odom
Odom, a sophomore standout guard for the E-gals basketball team, has had a breakthrough season on the basketball court so far this year. Averaging 17 points per game and 8 rebounds per game, Odom is by far one of the top players in the 3rd Region. Her consistency and hard work every game prove to be a strong asset to the team durng games and practice.
Several times Odom had been the leading rebounder and scorer for the E-gals. AgainstWarren East, Odom lead the charts with 9 deflections and five steals. This just goes to show that she is an all-around , talented player
Odom was also chosen as the Messenger-Inquirer’s Athlete of the Week earlier in the season., where she was recognized for her game against Owensboro Catholic, where she contributed 29 points. Odom is expected to keep giving the team the extra spark all the way to the District and Regional tournaments, which she hopes they win in order to make it to the Sweet Sixteen.
Senior
Reggie Wilson
Reggie Wilson, a senior point/shooting guard for the boy’s basketball team, has come through and proven to be one of the top scorers and players on the team so far this season. Wilson has had several standout performances this year, including having game winning free-throws to beat Daviess County .
Wilson is a great ball handler and can perform many quick-to-the-basket jump shots off of spin moves while driving through the middle of the lane throught tough defense. Wilson is capable of rebounding, scoring, getting steals and finishing with many assists as well.
So far this season, Wilson averages 12 points per game. His talent and speed on the court makes him not only fun and exciting to watch, but provide the energy and hard work that is efficient for the team.
Wilson is also a football player for the Eagles as well and has had many outstanding athletic accomplishments while here at AHS.
