FFA Week will kick off with a bang
by Eric Pinkston
Associate Opinions Editor

After our much appreciated three-day weekend, the annual FFA Week will be kicking off from February 19-26. Apollo FFA has held this every year, they see it as a chance to let the FFA members have fun, show their involvement, and test their skills in a myriad of trades, including the ancient art of the Muddy Pickup Truck.

On Tuesday Feb. 19th, the Ag Olympics (a variety of athletic and other events) will be held at Rachel Worthington’s house. Tuesday is also Fox Shirt Day, so the ever-popular Fox shirts will be an even more common sight.

Wednesday is FFA Camouflage Day and the muddiest truck competition. There will be a contest to see who can make their truck the biggest safety hazard. It’s all for fun, though, so don’t worry about bad driving. Also, after school, there will be a pool tournament at the Tamarack Arcade.

Thursday is FFA Jacket day so the whole school will know who is in FFA. Thrusday night there will be a speaking contest for all FFA members.

Friday is Drive Your Tractor to School Day, as it has been for several years now. It’s also Carhartt day. So all the people wearing that Carhartt logo might be FFA folks.
The current activities of FFA are mostly just for fun. Some are competitive: the muddy truck contest, pool tournament and Ag Olympics. But the real “fun” will be coming next month, because February is the big month for our FFA members.
