Roby & Lewis win top honors

Jessica “Jessie” Roby and Christen Lewis were both recentaly awarded the “Outstanding Performer Award” on January 19, 2005. This prestigious award is given only to the very top 2% of the surrounding Air FJR TC not to mention that Apollo student are only eigible every 18 months to 2 years, dependent upon the arrival of Colonel Slaughter on his rotation. Colonel Slaughter isthe Air Force Inspector in 6 states, including Kentucky, and responsible for over 100 schools, counting Apollo.

Both of these young ladies recieved a certificate commemerating their great acheivements and a new ribbon to place on their uniforn that identifies then as outstanding performers.
These girls are also very highly thought of by their fellow peers in the Air Force JROTC:
“Jessie is an all around good person. She does her best in all the jobs she does,” says Aunjanae Hawthorn.

“Christen is a good corps commander. She’ll lead us to success,”replied Bradley Mattingly.
Both Lewis and Roby have long participated in Apollo’s JROTC, and have lead their groups to amazinng heights. Hopefully they will continue to shock us with their amazing leadership skills that help show this community what a wonderful group of leaders we have graduating from our “Eagle Family”.

Congratulations to Jessica and Christen. We are all very proud of of your wonderful acheivements. We want to wish you all the best of luck in the years to come. You make your school so very proud of all of our Air Force JR OTC.
