Teaching it Thai style with Terry
by: Alex Headley
Business Manager

Many of you may only know Mr. Terry Ekbundit as the Asian chemistry teacher with a dating service. Students that have taken the opportunity to get to know “T” Ekbundit have grown to love all the crazy antics of this Thai.

Ekbundit has taught at Apollo for only four years. This may seem hard to believe since he is so involved. He has close relationships with many of his students. The easy-going atmosphere in his chemistry classes make it easy for students to open up and be comfortable with “T.” Although he’s perfectly happy in the Chemistry department, Mr.Ekbundit has always expressed the desire to teach in the Family Consumer Science Department.

Outside of school, he spends most of his free time with his family. The most important people in his life are his wife, Jodi, and new baby, Isabel. Isabel is a beautfiful one-year-old and is a handful for T and his wife. Recently he has been working on his Graduate degree at Western. He has a lot on his plate with a new baby, classes, and volleyball. He has coached volleyball for 4 years and has made a huge impact on the team. Although he sometimes feels he is only a ballshagger, he contributes immensely. When asked about the importance of Coach T, captain Emilee Duvall has said,“Without T, Apollo’s volleyball team would be like washing your hair without any conditioner.”

Many students here at Apollo have attempted the Ekbundit Challenge. This is a challenge in which you must drink an entire gallon of water in one hour. Evan Miller, a previous student of Apollo, is the only person that has successfully attempted this. One of Mr. Ekbundit’s favorite memories is the time John David Hale attempted the Challenge.

Mr.T’s friendly personality make it almost impossible for people not to approach him.
