“Live from New York” Saturday Night Live experienced one of its most talked mix ups ever. Pop star, Ashlee Simpson, was caught on live television lip-syncing her hit single “Pieces of Me”.

Previously that night Ashlee had already performed “Pieces of Me” without any problems. As she went back out on stage to perform “Autobiography” the pre-recorded vocals of her singing “Pieces of Me” started playing with her mouth not moving. Her band began to join in with themusic as Ashlee stood there confused. She panicked and ran off of the stage.

At the end of the show she said, “I feel so bad. My band started playing the wrong song! I didn’t know what to do.” Her father who is also her manager stated that his daughter used the voice track because of an acid reflux problem she had earlier that day, which made her hoarse.

During dress rehearsal, she ran out in tears because of the trouble with her voice. Simpson was very concerned and did not know whether she should sing or not.
Many singers have had to use vocal tracks before. Ashlee Simpson just happened to get caught on live television.

In an interview with MTV, Ashlee stated, “The whole situation was a bummer. It’s so embarrassing.” The entire band all went into a state of shock.

Ashlee asks that her fans be understanding of the mishap and forgive her for the incident. She swears to never use a vocal track again in her career.
