I just don’t understand it. Why do they start putting out Christmas decorations so early? I went to Target a few days after Halloween and they had already started putting out the decorations. It’s just a little bit too early for all of the Christmas madness.
Christmas is in December, Thanksgiving is in November, and Halloween is in October. That’s almost two whole months difference. Why would you want to buy Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving?

First off, the decorations are going to be more expensive now and then they will be after Christmas. Second of all, no one is going to put up a Christmas tree before Thanksgiving, and if they do, they’re absolutely NUTS. The way I see it everyone should go and get Christmas stuff after Christmas when it’s all on sale.

Think about it. If you walk into someone’s house on Thanksgiving and see a Christmas tree in the corner with lights and tinsel and brightly colored balls , you’re going to walk right back out of the door. I know I would.

When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of reds, oranges, yellows, and browns along with the changing leaves and little squirrels running around gathering nuts for the winter. I do not think of red and green, or Santa and Rudolph, or all of the toys and elves. I feel like going to the president of all of these companies that put out all of this Christmas stuff, from decorations to dolls to fake fir trees, and tell them that they’re all insane.

Maybe I should wear deer antlers to my families’ houses on Thanksgiving just to see if I’m the only person who thinks that it’s absolutely stupid to bring out Christmas decorations a month before Thanksgiving.

I understand getting all of the gifts bought and possibly even wrapped by Thanksgiving because my Mom always has all of her shopping done and gifts wrapped about a week before Thanksgiving. I just don’t like the thought of decorating before then, especially house lights. There are some people who may think I’m crazy, but I’m not. I just like to voice my opinion. Someone please tell me if I’m the only one who feels like this.
