Eagles finish up October strong

It was a cool fall Friday night and number 9 Apollo was facing number 4 Henderson Co. This game would decide who would win the district title.

Henderson county came out firing and scored 13 unanswered points in the first quarter. In the second period, Henderson Co. scored 19 points to Apollo’s 6.

At the half Apollo was losing 32 -6. In the second half, Apollo score 9 points to Henderson's 14. During the fourth quarter, Apollo was held scoreless and Henderson County put up 6 more for a final score of 52- 15.

During the game, David Howard passed for 115 yards for 15 of 36 passing. James Williams rushed 6 times for 15 yards, and Travis Rightmeyer rushed 5 times for 34 yards.

James also caught 6 passes for 35 yards and a touchdown. Reggie Wilson caught 4 passes for 55 yards and a touch down.

On special forces, Grant Todd had 53 yards on 3 attemps on kick off returns.
The before the Henderson Co. game, Apollo played Grayson county on the 8th of October.
Apollo beat Grayson Co. 31-7.On the air attack, David Howard passed for 135 yards on 9 of 18 passing. H e had no INT’s and a touchdown.

On the ground game, James Williams rushed for 120 yards on 16 attemps for 3 touchdowns. Erick Wettstain added with 51 yards on 8 carries.

The egales caught the ball well with Jordon Gray catching 4 balls for 89 yards. Erick Wettstain added to the game with a touchdown catch.

On sept. 24th , Apollo played district rival Daviess Co. Apollo defended their home turf well to shut out Daviess Co. 43-0.

During the game, David Howard passed for 308 yards on 14 of 23 passing for 3 touchdowns.
Jordon Gray caught 3 pass for 89 yards and a touchdown. Ben Duvall also had 3 receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown.

On the ground attack, James Williams rushed for 110 yards on 16 carries for 2 touchdowns. Travis Rightmeyer rushed for 44 yards on 2 carries and a touchdown.
