Save the drama for your momma
by: Amanda Walters
Academic Editor

Boys are fighting over someone talking about their mom, and girls are arguing over a boy that won’t even matter next month. This is a simple day in the life of every teenager at Apollo High School. And yes, I said SIMPLE. High school is like some kind of soap opera my grandma watches everyday at noon. I mean come on, drama is over-rated, and it needs to stop. Sorry if I offend anyone by typing this article, but I need to get this point across, and I need to do it fast before this stuff gets out of control.

Fighting is really dumb.Although it is truly funny to watch the people involved look silly when this is all over because you both have black eyes and bruises. Everyone knows Mr. Broughton, right? He is the discipline principal here, and he deals with those wonderful people that fight all the time. So, when you fight and get caught, you get sent to his office, and he is not afraid to fill those cubicles in ALC. Let me take this time to thank Mr. Broughton for all he does. Now I would advise you to start your own little click like I did. My friends and I do our own little thing and stay out of stupid little stuff, most of the time. In the words of the band War, “Why Can’t We Be Friends?”

Now girls, you all are just as bad if not worse than the boys. I hate walking down the hall way and hearing about who you are going to beat up or who your so called best friend likes. I really don’t care. If you are going to talk about this stuff, wait until you are in the privacy of your own car or your house. Heck, wait till you are in the bathroom. But that is how all these stupid rumors get started.

Drama is started everyday whether we recognize it or not. During the summer, another girl and I had an awful situation going on.If you don’t know then don’t ask. a certainteacher made us talk it out, and now I don’t have a problem with her. This whole problem was over a boy. Boys are trouble. No, I am kidding don’t take me seriously. But anyway, I learned a lesson. Don’t take everything so seriously, ladies. It is really just a waste of time and effort. What I am trying to say is start worrying about yourself and not so much about other people.

Ok Apollo, let’s take my advice in to consideration. Act as if nothing really matters.Remember that drama needs to stay in the theatre. One last thing, high school is supposed to be the best time of your life. So don’t ruin it with all this silly drama. Drama just ruins everything except movies and plays, so leave it there. Have fun and remember relationships last a week where as friendships last a life time.
